What you’ll Learn

You'll Learn...

The Functional Kettlebell Training framework for pain-free lifting.

Mastery of the 6 foundational kettlebell movements: the Swing, Clean, Snatch, Press, Squat, and Hinge.

Advanced techniques including double bell drills, flows, complexes, and the Turkish Get Up.

How to program kettlebells for any goal — strength, conditioning, or physique.

The coaching language to cue, correct, and get results for anyone you train.

So You Can...

Train hard and consistently without your body breaking down.

Confidently use kettlebells to achieve any fitness goal.

Break through plateaus and unlock new levels of strength and athleticism.

Become an in-demand coach who gets real-world results for every client.

Build a scalable, profitable coaching business around a system that actually works.

Why this system works

Have you ever felt a twinge in your back from a swing? Or bruised your wrists from a clean? Or stalled out on the same weight for months with no idea how to progress?

You’re not alone. And it’s not your fault.

The problem isn’t the kettlebell. It’s the approach. Most kettlebell training is a one-size-fits-all model that ignores individual mechanics, skips the progression map, and treats the bell like a funny-shaped barbell. The result is pain, frustration, and a ceiling you can’t break through.

This program gives you:

The FKT Framework: A principle-based system to adapt every movement to your body’s unique structure and needs. Forget cookie-cutter form. Learn to make the exercise fit you, not the other way around.

The Progression Map: A step-by-step guide from the most foundational drill to the most advanced application, so you always know exactly what to do next to keep making progress safely.

The Coaching Language: The exact cues and corrections to fix the most common errors and unlock flawless technique — for yourself and for every client you work with.

Meet Clif, Your Instructor

Clifton Harski

COO + Director of Education, Pain-Free Performance

Clifton Harski is a coach and teacher who helps people train hard without getting beat up. He turns tricky movement and kettlebell problems into simple steps you can use right away.

He has led 450+ workshops and certifications over the last 10+ years. He also helped build and run a small-group training business with multiple locations before moving into his role at Pain-Free Performance.

Inside FKT, he’ll show you how to coach the basics well, fix the common mistakes fast, and make the kettlebell work for real people.

FROM KETTLEBELL CONFUSION TO KETTLEBELL CONFIDENCE

We don’t tell, we show. Here’s just a few success stories from people who went through the FKT system.

Having come from the dogmatic approach of another company, I was struggling to program and advance new learners as they, the other company, instilled a tremendous fear of injury/adherence to standards for safety.FKT helped to provide a variety of drills and perspectives to alleviate those fears and place them where they belonged, at the back of my mind.As an example, hand switching cleans and snatches has lead to easier teaching and coaching of newer learners. Palm cleans and gunslingers also helped to increase the ease of introducing the kettlebell to new learners who are often intimidated by them initially.

Graig McElroy

As a trainer and a facility owner, we have a large part of our business that is strength based group training. Knowing the kettle bell was such a great tool, we really needed a way to be able to teach it respectfully, correctly, and yet bring the enjoyment of the kettle bell to our members. It opened a whole new aspect to our group training in freshness, the way people moved and their confidence as well as our overall programming. FKT just broadened our trainer’s ability to bring more to our members. We’ve even run some kettlebell block programming with some of our more advanced training clients. After a 4-6 week program, they actually went up in all of their primary lifts, even without touching a bar or heavy dumbbells for that period of time.

Becky Peterson

What changed for me after going through the FKT certification was seeing how my "traditional" approach to coaching kettlebells was limiting me to a variety of moves I could use to get my clients stronger. For example, the lateral swing was a new exercise for me but the concept and instruction on how to coach and implement this in a program was a welcomed variation I use now.I would recommend this certification to any individual who feels they seen everything when it comes to kettlebell training.

Damien Edmondson

The Functional Kettlebell Certification was a great experience for me as a seasoned coach. It gave me new tools to challenge our athletes in smarter ways while staying technical and intentional. What stood out most was the level of detail in the coaching cues and the framework behind progressions and regressions. It was not just about learning new exercises. It was about thinking differently about training.I walked away with sharper cues, more intentional programming, and more confidence adjusting in real time. If you are on the fence, this is not just another course. It gives you a deeper way to coach and develop athletes.

Troy Cole

I was unsure of proper cue-ing and form for snatches and the variations of cleans and swings.
The biggest “aha” moment I had was the difference in swings to achieve the next movement. For example, needing a more vertical swing for a snatch movement, vs having to utilize a full blast power swing to enter any secondary movements.
I have more tools in my belt as far as regressions and progressions for KB specific exercises. Now that I am comfortable with the moves myself. I have already programmed a couple of the exercises we went through for clients who struggle with mobility, drawing force out of their hips and understanding proper bell placement and mechanics.

The FKT cert is awesome. I learned so much from Clif. The cert. is two months long and very rigorous(the most in depth course/cert. i've taken to date), you will have to put in the hours. But I came out the other side with a new appreciation for kettlebells and a much higher level of proficiency. As a group x instructor, this is making all the difference for me and my students. I am grateful to Clif for putting out this information. Worth every penny!!!

Shaked Rosenthal

I recently completed the online FKT kettlebell course and it was absolutely awesome. The pace was perfect, and the video instruction was incredibly clear and easy to follow, loaded with practical cues, and super helpful for teaching clients how to move, learn, and adapt. I’ve done both in-person and online certifications, including the OG in-person course in San Diego, and every time I take another one it’s even better. They’re constantly adapting and improving their courses, which shows in the quality and flow of the content. The online format especially shines for skill development because you can pause, practice, and really dial things in. The instructors are top-notch, relatable, funny, and confidence-building. Highly recommend for anyone looking to level up their kettlebell knowledge and coaching!

Emily Hohn

I almost didn't attend because of the time to travel, and needing to arrange childcare, and because of how much it costs to feed me on travel (LOL, but I also eat too much, especially on the road).
The FKT was the first useful KB certification I've taken, and I have done many KB certs and workshops (including SFG)... the FKT is about working with your clients, and gives practical options, which is what is of practical and economic value to you as a personal trainer.  The other KB certs have you spending hours and hours on "perfecting" one thing which none of your clients will ever care about (and might hate) because they are not kettlebell nerds or purists.
I would highly recommend FKT if you are looking to get better at training your clients with kettlebells, assuming you train regular people.

Josef Brandenburg

I attended Clifton’s Functional Kettlebell Training certification in Zagreb in 2024.My biggest challenge before enrolling was simply logistics. Living on the coast, summer is our busiest season, and stepping away from work and clients for a full weekend required serious planning. But I had followed Clifton’s work for years and was already a big believer in kettlebell training, so I knew it would be worth it.Meeting Clifton in person had a much deeper impact than I expected. Being in the room, learning directly from him, and experiencing the system hands-on brought a new level of clarity and intention to my coaching. It refined my eye for detail, improved my own movement quality, and gave me a more structured way to apply kettlebell work with clients.

Andreja Davidovic

I’ve completed several kettlebell certifications over the years, including StrongFirst, Jason C. Brown’s Kettlebell Athletics Level 1 & 2, Kettlebell Kings, and DV8 Fitness. I enrolled in the FKT certification to broaden my perspective and see how it compared to the other systems I’ve studied. What stood out immediately was FKT’s “outside-the-box” approach. It challenged traditional kettlebell concepts and expanded the movement library in creative and practical ways. The program utilizes the kettlebell in more versatile and dynamic patterns, introducing new principles and fresh training pathways that add both variety and challenge. It was different — in a good way — and genuinely fun to experience. The certification packs a significant amount of information into two days. It’s immersive and fast-paced, so reviewing and revisiting the material afterward is essential to fully retain and implement what you learn. That said, the depth and innovation of the content make it well worth the effort.

Carlos R Hernandez

The FKT certification genuinely changed the way I look at kettlebell training. What I loved most is that it moves away from the rigid, dogmatic approach that often dominates the kettlebell world. Instead of being told there’s only one “right” way, FKT opens up an entirely new framework for how to train and coach with kettlebells — one that’s principle-driven, adaptable, and athletic. It sharpened my eye as a coach immediately. I’m now seeing movement differently. My ability to coach details, clean up technique, and layer progressions has improved massively. I walked away with a toolbox full of new drills and cues that I’m already using with my athletes and clients. The structure of the course was excellent — starting with the foundations and progressively building into more advanced lifts. Nothing felt rushed. That layered system builds real competence, not just flashy lifts.

JP Rossouw

Absolutely phenomenal experience! FKT’s eight-week virtual kettlebell certification was, hands down, the best I’ve ever done. From start to finish, it was engaging, incredibly well-structured, and packed with valuable knowledge. Clif (& Sarah) were top-notch—expertly breaking down techniques, providing insightful feedback, and making the learning process both fun and effective.I walked away with a deeper understanding of how much more kettlebell training can be, improved skills, and a newfound confidence in my ability to coach and perform newly learned movements with precision. It was exactly what I was looking for when I signed up—clear, practical, and challenging in the best way possible.

Tiffany Peche

I signed up for FKT after I took prior kettlebell and PPSC certifications.  The idea of melding these two together was too much to resist!  I was passionate about kettlebells and loved sharing that passion with my clients. This certification teaches you the fundamentals and progressions of every kettlebell exercise you could possibly imagine. This not only made me confident in my ability to coach these moves, but also taught me so many new and fun ways to use a bell.  As a trainer, we know that many of our clients have no prior experience with kettlebells and are either afraid or unsure how or why to use them.  With the confidence and knowledge I gained taking the FKT certification I have been able to pass that along to my clients who are now comfortable and have fun using kettlebells. One of those clients became a trainer herself and she also ended up taking this certification!  There are also many opportunities for learning and networking even after you finish the course; as an alumni this whole community opens up to you. That's how far reaching this can be.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to common questions we hear from professionals and trainees.

Is this for me if I’m a complete beginner with kettlebells?

Yes. The FKT Fundamentals module is built from the ground up. You’ll start with the anatomy of the bell, the foundational principles of movement, and the most basic drills before progressing to anything complex. If you’ve never touched a kettlebell, this is the right place to start.

I’ve been using kettlebells for years. Is this too basic for me?

Not a chance. Even experienced kettlebell users consistently find gaps in their technique and understanding when they go through this system. The Progressions module — covering advanced swing angles, double bell drills, traveling complexes, and more — will challenge you and give you tools you’ve never seen before.

How is this different from a weekend kettlebell certification course?

A weekend course gives you 16 hours of information in a format that’s nearly impossible to retain. FKT gives you over 440 on-demand lessons, broken into digestible segments you can review, practice, and revisit at any time. The learning sticks because the format is built for real mastery, not just a credential.

What if I have back, shoulder, or wrist pain?

This course was built with you in mind. The core philosophy of FKT is adapting movement to the individual — not forcing a one-size-fits-all technique that breaks bodies. You’ll learn how to modify exercises to work around pain while building the strength and mechanics to address the root cause.

What kind of support do I get after I enroll?

You get lifetime access to the full course library, including all future updates. You’ll also have access to our community of coaches and trainees where you can ask questions, share your progress, and connect with people on the same journey.

How long will it take me to complete the program?

The course is entirely self-paced. You have lifetime access, so you can move as quickly or as deliberately as you like. We recommend a structured approach to give the material time to integrate, but the timeline is yours to set.

What if I only have one or two kettlebells?

That’s all you need to get started. The FKT system is designed to maximize results with minimal equipment. We’ll show you exactly how to get the most out of whatever bells you have available.

Is this for me if I have no prior fitness certifications or coaching experience?

Yes, absolutely.

This certification was designed for you. While many programs give you book-only theory, we start from the ground up with a complete, step-by-step system that is rooted in real-life practice.

You don’t need prior experience because we aren’t just teaching you exercises; we’re teaching you a practical framework for thinking and making decisions in real coaching scenarios.

This is the perfect foundation for a new career.

Am I too old to be starting this? I’m in my 40s/50s.

This is a common question, and the answer is a definitive no.

Your age and life experience are your greatest assets.

You have a level of empathy, maturity, and relatability that younger trainers simply can’t match.

Your clients won’t be 20-year-old athletes; they will be people like you, who trust you because you understand their life stage.

This program is designed to turn your life experience into your professional advantage.

Do I need to be an elite athlete or super-fit to be a credible coach?

Not at all.

This certification is not about turning you into a fitness model.

It’s about teaching you a system to help others.

Your credibility will come from your competence and your ability to get results for your clients safely, not from how much you can lift or how fast you can run.

Your passion for helping people is far more important than your personal athletic ability.

What happens when a client says “my back hurts”? Will I really know what to do?

This is the core of what we solve.

That moment of panic is replaced with a calm, confident process.

You’ll learn the PFP System to instantly assess the situation, the Progression/Regression Ladder to choose a smarter alternative, and the “Exercise Swap” Library for specific modifications.

You will never have to guess because you will have a clear, repeatable system to follow in any situation.

How is this certification different from cheaper, weekend-long courses?

Many courses either give you a mountain of disconnected theory or a list of random exercises.

The PFP Certification gives you a true coaching operating system.

It’s a framework for decision-making that you can apply to any client, with any goal, in any situation.

It’s not just information; it’s a practical, career-building skill that has been trusted by thousands of professionals worldwide.

What kind of support do I get after I enroll? Am I on my own?

You are not alone.

Once you enroll, you get immediate access to our private community, where you can connect with fellow students and our team of expert coaches.

Most importantly, you get access to monthly live Q&A calls with Dr. John and his team, where you can get your specific questions answered.

How long will it take me to complete the program?

The program is 100% self-paced, so you can move at a speed that feels right for you.

Based on the success of thousands of our students, we recommend taking 6-8 weeks to move through the core curriculum.

However, you have lifetime access to all the materials, including all future updates, so you can revisit the content anytime and never have to worry about a deadline.

We are deeply invested in your success.

How long will it take me to complete the program?

The program is 100% self-paced, so you can move at a speed that feels right for you.

Based on the success of thousands of our students, we recommend taking 6-8 weeks to move through the core curriculum.

However, you have lifetime access to all the materials, including all future updates, so you can revisit the content anytime and never have to worry about a deadline.

why I created this

Hi, I’m Clifton Harski.

For years, I’ve had the chance to coach, teach, and work with coaches who care about doing things the right way. And in that time, one tool kept coming up again and again as a source of both huge progress and avoidable problems: the kettlebell.

I created this program to solve two very different issues I kept seeing hold good people back.

On one hand, I saw committed trainees who wanted to get strong, move well, and feel good in their bodies, but who were either afraid of getting hurt or had already been hurt and didn’t know what to trust next. The kettlebell felt like a risky tool, and without a clear system, it can be.

On the other hand, I saw talented coaches who knew the kettlebell could be one of the most effective tools in their toolbox, but who didn’t have a complete, principled framework to apply it safely and effectively for every person in front of them. They had methods. They had favorite drills. But without a system, it turned into guessing. And guessing is where technique breaks down, progress stalls, and confidence disappears.

I’m here to tell you that your starting point doesn’t matter. Whether you’re picking up a kettlebell for the first time or you’ve been coaching with bells for years, the solution is the same: you need a system built on principles, not just patterns.

My mission with this program is to give you that system. A repeatable way to build skill, strength, and resilience with the kettlebell, so you can train hard, coach with clarity, and keep making progress for the long run.

I hope you'll join us.

Yours in strength,
Clifton Harski
